Title: Part-Time  Human Resources Generalist  – Central Office, Non-Union Support Staff

 

Position Summary: Human Resources role with the assignment of supporting district-wide Human Resources and Benefits management. The HR Generalist provides day-to-day support in on-boarding, exiting, retirements, and interfacing with Payroll for benefits withholding setup. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to): 

  • Help maintain employee personnel records, and set up new employees in the system
  • Assists with the management of open enrollment for all employee benefits
  • Assist with processing CORI checks and ensuring fingerprinting requirements are met and recorded.
  • Respond to unemployment claims, employment verifications and loan forgiveness form requests in a timely manner.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements including, FOIA, Wage and Hour, EEOC, FMLA, employment; study new and existing legislation; enforce adherence to requirements; advise management on needed actions.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments and performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Coordinate with retirement boards and Human Resources staff on benefits-related matters.
  • Becomes familiar with duties of other team members and assists them with projects in peak flow time; when requested.
  • Investigate and resolve problems relating to all areas of responsibility, gather and analyze information and take proper course of action.
  • Cross train to fill in for other members of the Business Office team, as needed.
  • Attend and participate in all office meetings or events as assigned by the HR Manager
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage complex tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Extensive work within Google Workspace Applications, Excel, Financial systems a plus
  • Exceptional writing skills and ability to verbally communicate with all employee types, as well as town/school administrators. 
  • Ability to work successfully and collaboratively in a deadline-based environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be courteous, efficient, and professional demeanor in all interactions
  • Prior experience with MUNIS and payroll processing, including earnings, deductions, and garnishments preferred
  • Knowledge of school department HR operations and related benefits processing procedures preferred.

Education and Experience: 

  • Three years experience in payroll, Human Resources or benefits administration
  • High School diploma required/Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study a plus

 

Salary Range: $28/Hour - $33/Hour

 

Work Schedule: Twelve Months, Part-Time, schedule TBD
