Donald D. Johnson Operational and Cost Efficiency Award

The Donald D. Johnson Operational and Cost Efficiency Award recognizes school districts for their efforts in developing replicable, cost efficient approaches that address operational challenges commonly burdening districts.

MASBO is grateful for its partnership with VOYA Financial, who through its generosity, has developed and made this distinguished award possible. The recipient receives a plaque in recognition of implementation of the cost-saving initiative as well as a $2,500 student scholarship award. The School Business Administrator or designated employee of the district will be awarded a trip to the ASBO International Annual Conference & Expo, and announcements will be sent to the local newspapers and appear in the MASBO Notebook. The award is presented at the Annual Institute in May, with a follow-up ceremony at a school/district School Committee meeting, if desired.

Nominations are welcomed before April 1 each year and may be submitted by anyone who can document and attest to the district's accomplishments. Award selection is made by the Awards Subcommittee and the MASBO Board of Directors.
